Doctor Elena del Carmen Solis Montero is an Angiologist and Vascular Surgeon for our WorldMed Assist Merida Surgical Team. She has an excellent record of education and training and is fully licensed to perform a wide range of specialized operations in the field of CCSVI Liberation Surgery. Her credentials include experience both in the Yucatan and internationally. She is a wonderful addition to our team and contributes a highly professional ethic of dedication and commitment.

Education, Training, and Experience
Dr. Solis earned her M.D. degree from 1994-2000 at the Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan (Autonomous University of Yucatan). Since this university is located in Merida, Dr. Solis is accustomed to the medical and professional atmosphere of the city.
Afterwards, from 2003-2004 she completed her first year of residency at Zone 6 General hospital located in San Nicolas de Los Garza, Mexico. During that year she focused on General Surgery procedures and techniques. From 2004-2007, Dr. Solis completed her 2nd through 4th year residencies at the National Cardiology Medical Center of the Northeast, located in Sonora, Mexico. During these years her training emphasized the more specialized area of vascular surgery.
Dr. Solis has also participated in a number of outstanding fellowship programs.
In 2004 she completed a fellowship in the United States with the Cleveland Clinic. The clinic, located in Cleveland, Ohio, is one of the top-ranked hospitals in the entire United States and is known for its leading-edge medical procedures.
Next, in 2006, Dr. Solis completed a fellowship with another prestigious medical institute, the Cardiovascular Institute (Instituto Cardiovascular) in Madrid, Spain. The fellowship with the Cardiovascular Institute further contributed to Dr. Solis’ extensive skills and experience.
Publications and Continuing Education
Dr. Solis has demonstrated her commitment to continuous improvement, as evidenced by her outstanding academic achievements and post-graduate projects. For example, she has authored several medical publications in the area of Angiology and Vascular Surgery. In particular, she authored an outstanding report entitled Valvuloplasty Treatment of Venous Insufficiency. Her works were presented at the 26th and 27th Mexican Congress of Angiology and Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Solis continues to hone her skills and sharpen her education. After graduation and residency she has attended several international symposiums and congresses. She participated in a symposium on Endovascular Therapy in Barcelona Spain, and another in San Diego, U.S., focusing on Cardiothoracic Surgery.
As you can see, Dr. Elena Solis is a very accomplished and seasoned physician. Her work is consistently outstanding and she is considered to be one of the leading professionals in her particular field of specialty.
