Dr. Bernando Silva, Vascular Surgeon
Our WorldMed Assist Surgical Team is made up of dedicated physicians who are devoted to your cause. In particular, Doctor Bernardo Silva Abad is a fine example of the high level of skill and diversity that characterizes our Surgical Team. Dr. Silva contributes to our team as an Angiologist as well as a Vascular and Endovascular surgeon. His educational background and training span many years, and we are honored to work with such an accomplished professional.
Education and Residencies
From the years 1995 to 2000 Dr. Silva earned his bachelor’s degree in surgery at the Universidad La Salle in Mexico City. La Salle is one of the premiere universities located in all of Mexico. Afterwards from 2000-2001 he completed an internship with the Ministry of Health of the State of Baja California, as well as a social service program with the Ministry of Health of the State of Quintana Roo. These challenging programs allowed Dr. Silva to develop a wide variety of skills in the medical field.
Beginning in the year 2002 until 2006 Dr. Silva completed an all-inclusive series of residencies with the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social. During this time period, Dr. Silva industriously completed his residencies in General Surgery, Angiology and Vascular Surgery, and Vascular Angiology. His hard work culminated in March of 2006 when the Mexican Counsel of Angiology and Vascular Surgery presented him with his official certification. More recently in 2009, Dr. Silva worked closely with the Institute of Chest Therapy in Barcelona, Spain where he completed a Graduate Program in Endovascular Surgery.
Continuing Education and Association Membership
Dr. Silva is a well-rounded professional who constantly furthers his education on a consistent basis. After graduation and achieving certification, Dr. Silva has continued to attend conferences, additional courses, and symposiums in the field of vascular and endovascular therapy. Some of these were held in international venues such as Argentina and Cleveland, Ohio in the U.S. Vascular Therapy forms a large part of CCSVI treatment, and Dr. Silva understands the importance of staying updated with the various advances in the field.
Dr. Silva is a member of the International Society of Vascular Surgery. He is also a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the State of Nuevo Leon. Membership in such exclusive medical association allows him to exchange ideas with other practicing physicians in the field across the world.
As you can probably tell, Dr. Silva’s impressive credentials and experience have helped him to serve the community with top-notch services.
